Fun facts

  • In addition to working in the design industry, I spend the wee early mornings (really early, 5am!) writing essays and working in my studio on various creative projects (drawing, painting, collage, assemblage, and dance).

  • It’s been a mighty privilege to travel to several countries around the globe. I find heaps of inspiration learning about other cultures and places. At one point, years ago, I was living and working on a farm in southern Chile while finishing up my final project for graduate school. I learned about bees and honey and cooked simple meals with what the land had to offer.

  • My bedside table is stacked high with non-fiction, poetry, and philosophy. Current standouts include Ed Yong’s “An Immense World” and Lars Horn’s “Voice of the Fish”.

  • To ground myself, I like to spend ample time in the woods, the garden, the ocean, the river, or anywhere outside of the city’s din. One of my favorite spots in Oregon is the Alvord Desert. It’s extraordinarily quiet with infinite stars.
